This is a brass cricket box in a hexagon shape. People use them for potpourri, trinkets, for display only, etc. It's a shiny brass and has a light metal feel to it. It's a lacquered brass. The box closes and the front closure is delicate as they are on most of these older boxes. It has little pegs on the bottom of it which has it stand higher. And it has a handle on the top.
