Vintage Black Beaded Evening Bag Elaborate Clasp Filigree Frame Jacque Renaud

This is an awesome example of an elaborate beaded evening bag from the early to mid twentieth century. The metal filigree frame is exquisite, and the clasp is unique! The gold colored “stone” that is the centerpiece of the clasp is made of some kind of plastic, and it is surrounded by faux pearls. When you lift it, the purse pops open. The inside is very clean, and has an elasticized pocket. A label inside is hard to read, but I am reasonably certain it says Jacque Renaud. There is a matching loop that appears to have been sewn in somehow, but I can’t see where it would have gone. There are a few minor areas of bead or sequin missing—I have photographed these areas for you, in the last photos. A few of the faux pearls on the clasp are missing as well. The bag measures 7” x 6”, measured at the largest points.
