Vintage Bakelite?! 30/40’s CHERRY 🍒 Necklace/ Kitschy 30’s Necklace CHERRIES

Stunning 1930s/1940’s vintage antique CHERRIES 🍒 necklace! This one’s for all you cherry loving ladies out there, hon! 🍒😉🕶️💄💋 Presenting a 1930s/1940’s cherries 🍒 and leaves necklace. Though I cannot be absolutely sure, this appears to be an authentic 1930s/1940’s Bakelite antique necklace with celluloid leaves and celluloid chain! The necklace has five attached cherries 🍒 and one cherry 🍒 that has broken off and is included in case you wish to repair the necklace yourself or have it professionally repaired. If you google these necklaces, there’s a blog post about a woman who repaired one. Based on my research, I suspect there were originally eight cherries. Still such a fun, kitschy piece and a hallmark find for many a collector’s collection. I believe the carved cherries to be Bakelite. ❤️ The leaves 🍃 are likely celluloid (per my research), as are the red chain links. The leaves dangle off brass jump rings that connect to the red necklace links. Both leaves and chain links are faded, but still possess much vintage charm! ❤️ Likewise, the cherry stems, that were once lengths of thread coated in a green wax or plastic, have shed some of their coating. Still lovely. 🥰 An antique brass spring ring clasp keeps the necklace closed. Measures 16” long.
