Purchased this pair from the Southern Christmas Show, late 80’s or early 90’s. From research, I’ve learned the molds go back at least as far as the 1970’s and were used for porcelain and ceramic. I like resin because it’s easy to work with and durable.
If you’re the crafty type, and love to paint these are easy to finish with acrylics. My collection (fairly vast) were Father Christmas figures… I fell in love with these two though. Paint, distress if you like and clear coat.
The original forms would have been hand carved from wood (basswood, most likely) and subsequently more could produced with resin and other materials.
Tallest one is approximately 11.25”.
