Vintage ARIA A 100% Silk Pants Ukiyo-E Asian Print Mid-Century Kimono Fabric L

Vintage silk pants made from Japanese kimono-style fabric. The designed features figures dressed in traditional kimono, with one person holding a large umbrella (wagasa) classic motifs. the figures are rendered in a woodblock-style illustration, similar to ukiyo-e art. (Edo period, 17th-19th century Japan). The beige base with red wavy stitching looks like sashiko-style embroidery, but more decorative than functional. The ukiyo-e inspired print was especially popular in the mid-20th century (1940s-1960s), when Japanese textile makes producted silk garments. These pants were made of a kimono bolt fabric (tanmono). excellent condition, no flaws noted. Approximately 12 inch high waisted, 23" inch cropped inseam, waist 16" inches across unstretched. Zip up with back elastic waist. mother of pearl button.
