When my family first moved to New England, my parents enjoyed taking us on weekend/ day trips to local art shops, historic sites & auctions......they were a lot of fun & very appreciated.
On a trip to Dartmouth, NH in 1991 - we stopped at the excellent Salmon Falls Stoneware pottery studio in Dover, NH.
My parents purchased a number of bowls & pottery pieces. This tall wide mouth jar or vase was one of a series of 2 they purchased. My Mom had onions in one on the kitchen counter.
This ceramic piece has a sandy baked glaze with the pottery stamp at the top rim. It has a gorgeous cobalt blue salt glaze and pretty primitive detail of a grape cluster & on other, a grape & vine
The stamp denotes the pottery location and name along with the date, 1991. The bottom also has the coloration of where it sat to cook in the kiln.
The inside is not cracked or crazed - it's coated in a dark brown glaze
It would be super to display or plant in or toss all of your loose change in for a rainy day!
