About the cap: * a Vintage 1980's 100% nylon Black baseball cap with adjustable Snapback & thin black rope * The front features an embroidered ERIS patch About the patch: In late 1985, Lockheed was awarded a contract to develop & test the ERIS (Exoatmospheric Reentry Interceptor Subsystem) ballistic missile interceptor as part of the ground-based missile defense system within the SDI (Strategic Defense Initiative) program. ERIS was to become an upper-tier system, complemented by the lower-tier HEDI (High Endoatmospheric Defense Interceptor). Condition: In Excellent Vintage Pre-Owned Condition. This is an Estate find from a Gentleman that was in the Navy and later worked for Lockheed in the 80s-90s.
