Vintage 70s Chanel Coco Profile Buckle Denim Belt READ 27-30

This gal has seen some better days, but how often do you come across vintage 70s Chanel?! This belt is the Coco Chanel profile belt with gold tone Coco Chanel profile buckle with pearl earring. Initially gold tone, but the gold tone has worn through mostly around the center, revealing Silvertone underneath. It is very reflective so that’s not super obvious. There is verdigris mostly on the underside but a little bit around the edges, not so much on the top of the buckle. The hooks on the underside fasten to the belt at a 30 inch waist but a previous owner has added some other loops a little further in so there is also a 27 to 28 inch option. See photo. The denim has a small tear in the fabric near the buckle, but the real issue is the underside of the denim is crumbling. It’s not noticeable when it’s worn, but it is in bad shape and I would have a cobbler add a reinforcing layer. I have not done so because I wanted to respect the integrity and I didn’t want to cover up with the brand for authentication. Although I don’t believe Chanel was faked in the 70s. The belt is approximately 2.25” wide. I have not seen the denim version of this belt elsewhere but I have seen the black version marked anywhere from $1200-$2000. I am marking this one lower due to condition and to leave budget for a potential trip to the cobbler. The gal has seen some things, but she is a collectors item.
