Vintage '60s Ethnic Korean Embroidered Teeter-Totter Girls Handkerchief
Approx 9" square
From 1960s post-war Korea featuring 2 Korean girls playing on a teeter-totter. They are hand embroidered on 1 corner of the hankie, which also has a scalloped edge.
There were many different scenes made, but they all included the 2 little girls. Sometimes, they’re playing other games or just walking together, but it’s always the 2 of them, embroidered in their bright colors.
HISTORY: The hankies were stitched by the hands of Korean women in post-war Korea, who participated in a cottage industry known as Operation Hanky, established by Fr. Al Schwartz to raise funds to help the poor of Korea.
Very good vintage condition - no stains or holes
