brokerin Elgin made a very durable movement. But that case, yikes. FYi, if you look closely, there may be a stamp indicating the thickness of the gold plate. Typically 18 to 24K.. That is why the scratches appear so deep. Most American watches were 14k. and the Elgin 18 or 24k gold is softer and thicker.
