This Vtg 1960s shift style midi dress features a luxurious camel color, with crew neck, short sleeves, darts in bust, and a long zipper down the back. It is lined with SiBonne: This tailoring material, made by Armo, is no longer available. It is made of 51% bemburg rayon, and 49% avron. It has an anti-static finish, and it has a crisp hand. A good substitute would be silk organza.
There is no fabric tag other than the Sibonne one, but the dress feels like a soft wool, and is well made and of sturdy construction. Union made by the ILGWU (International Ladies Garment Workers Union). This particular union label was in use from 1963 to 1974. The brand Carlye was first used in 1938, was registered in 1944, and was renewed in 1984. This brand is no longer in use. There are several marking on one side of dress near the hem, and some spots on the liner. I have included pictures of these for you. The sizing says 12, but vintage runs small, double check measurements!
