Beautiful vintage coat from the 50s or 60s with 100% genuine Persian lamb (by Fairmoor) lining and wide lapel. No buttons or fasteners, but big enough to wrap around . This coat will be ever so warm in spite of it. The coat is from Hovland-Swanson in Lincoln Nebraska, using red "Wonderful Worumbo Woolen" wool on the shell and real fur on the inside.
Wear this over black, gray, beige, silver, white or with a bright green scarf for an incredible Holiday look. The Persian lamb is so luxurious, but could easily be mistaken for faux fur... yet it is not. Swanky cut with interesting cuffs that can be folded over or worn down. The lining inside the sleeves is a black crepe, and there are pit guards sewn in to protect the fur.
The fur is not tacked down to the bottom of the coat. It doesn't look like it was ever this way. There is 5" of crepe lining sewn to the bottom of the fur on the inside and some seam binding on the inside of the hem of the red wool. It looks like that is the way it's supposed to be. There is a small spot of moth damage on the lower back - but considering it's nearly 70 years old, I'm amazed it only has one.
This is previously worn and I would say that it is in very good condition. The fur on the inside is in excellent shape.
