Vintage 50s Union Made black velvet hat with mesh satin ribbon, USA, mid century

Vintage black hat with mesh and a satin ribbon with bow detail on black. Made in the USA. The hat has a velvet like fabric. The hat and mesh are in excellent condition. It comes it the original box it was purchased in with the original layaway receipt. The box does have wear and staining. This can be seen in the photos. It measures 5" tall and about 8 1/2" X 7 7/8" wide.
