This was a present that my friend's father gave her mother back in the 40s. It is a Yukata, which is a casual summer piece of Japanese clothing, often used in spas. They are constructed differently from a true kimono, and kimonos are more formal. Yukatas are usually made from lighter, less expensive fabrics than kimonos. This feels like a light linen. It did not have a belt with it. It is a beautiful green, with pink and blue flowers and a very pretty bird. I don't know what size, as it has no tags. I would call it one size fits most, because I wear a size large and I could wear it, but it looks good on my size 6 mannequin too. Armpit to armpit 25" Length from shoulder 52" Width of sleeve 16" It is in excellent condition! It feels crisp and like new! Proceeds go to Saving One Life Kitty Rescue in Gilbert AZ, to help pay for veterinary care for less fortunate fur babies!

camille2t Hi, Does this robe have two ties, one inside and one outside? Is it cotton and soft? Thanks!

vintage_vampira @camille2t Hi! I'm a night owl and late sleeper, so I can hardly open my eyes yet... I will get back to you in a couple of hours!

vintage_vampira @camille2t Sorry to take so long... So this kimono does not have a belt, and it's not soft... the lady that I got it from said that her father gave it to her mother in the 40s... I suspect it was an inexpensive one back then, made from less expensive fabric for casual wear. It is not rough, or itchy, but it's not soft like silk or anything.

vintage_vampira @camille2t I don't know what fabric it is, but it's like a lightweight linen, and it is crisp, like curtains you'd put in your window. It was probably originally a tourist-y item.

vintage_vampira @camille2t Also, it doesn't have ties, being a kimono, a person would have had a separate wide belt that they would wear around it.
