Vintage 24K Gold plated Japanese or Chinese "Cup"

This is a vintage 24k gold plated Japanese or Chinese "bowl". It's not actually a bowl, I think it's an old display piece or something like a ceremony cup. The top is etched with a Japanese/Chinese ancient buildings. Very heavy and comes with the box shown in the picture. It's stamped 24kgp on the bottom.
