Takes two C batteries which are NOT included. Plaque to the front reads "Noel". The lantern lights up when turned on. Plays several Christmas carols. The music is a bit distorted when turning the volume knob but once the volume is set to the desired volume it plays as it should. Comes with the original box and instructions. No corrosion to the battery box. A small red ink stain to the front as pointed out in a close up.
