Materials: rhinestones, Cabochons Founded in 1948, Sphinx was a British company which made high quality costume jewelry for several design houses, like Kenneth J. Lane, Saks Fifth Avenue, Butler & Wilson, Neiman Narcus and Bloomingdales, along with other high end department stores. The jewelry is now becoming highly collectible since Sphinx ceased operations in the late 1990's.
