Vintage Lipton Yellow Label Tea Mug – Bharat Fine China, Jaipur
This vintage Lipton Yellow Label tea mug features the classic bright yellow glaze and bold red-and-black logo that defined the brand’s mid- to late-20th-century packaging. The design is printed on one side only, positioned to the right of the handle — meaning that if you hold it in your left hand, the logo faces you; if you hold it in your right hand, the logo faces outward toward your tea companion. That detail makes it a nice conversation piece as well as a collectible display item.
The base mark reads “Bharat Fine China, Jaipur.” Bharat Potteries began operation in 1978, producing fine bone china for both domestic and export markets. Based on the mark and overall style, this mug likely dates from the 1980s to early 1990s, a period when branded promotional mugs were increasingly produced for international beverage companies.
The mug holds roughly 6 to 8 ounces and measures 3.5 inches tall × 4.25 inches wide (including handle) × 3 inches in diameter. The glaze is smooth and glossy with no chips or cracks, and the interior remains clean and bright. Light surface wear and a few faint scuffs are present on the logo area, consistent with gentle vintage use. Please review photos closely for details. Sold individually; two are available at the time of listing.
