Size 16” wide by 13” high
It is a print (probably offset) black ink on ivory paper, shrink-wrapped with foam core backing board, which has kept it fairly clean over the years. Probably purchased in the 1980s. There are a couple of small dents in the paper, and a crease at the bottom left corner, which most likely can be ironed out with a clothing iron. Slight bend to the board. See photos for details. Sits in a plastic sleeve.
The attribution says “Reprinted by permission (c) 1949, 1968 The New Yorker Magazine, Inc. Calligraphic Design (c) Penultima 1977 JS 113”. The text is attributed in the cat’s left paw: “The poem CATALOGUE by Rosalie Moore. Written out by J Svaren”
The poem starts in the tail and begins: “Cats sleep fat & walk thin. Cats, when they sleep, slump; when they wake, stretch and begin over, pulling their ribs in…”
