Vintage 1970 Washi Ningyo Japanese Doll

Vintage Washi Ningyo Japanese doll made from washi paper created by folding and twisting the paper to form the figure depicting a geisha in a kimono of vibrant colors, back bow detail, traditional updo with delicate comb and sequin accents displayed on a stand. The intricate folds and patterns of the paper are used to create the layered kimono and other details of the doll's clothing. Originally purchased in Japan in the late 1970s. Display behind glass. Excellent condition.
