🚂Vintage 1960s Rubens Originals Cup Style Planter

Vintage 1960s Rubens Originals Large Cup Style Ceramic/Porcelain Planter Box, made in Japan, in the shape of a soup size cup/mug. This adorable piece features 2 very different & sweet animal scenes on either side of the planter; 1. a pink elephant & yellow giraffe riding a baby blue train (pink smoke/wheels) made out of letter blocks, & 2. two tiny flying yellow birds in blue skies w/blue flowers on the ground (bottom). 🎀THE BLUE BOWTIE HANDLE IS THE BEST PART OF THIS PLANTER~LOVE IT! Overall, it's in great condition; there's a couple of minute areas on the bow handle (nicks, etc), nothing too noticable. The inside, while clean, is rough on the base (from the mfg-see pic #12). One area in between the 2 birds where paints been scraped off (pic #9). 🪴These cool planters were made by several companies in Japan and were usually created for florists and stores like Woolworths. On the bottom, this particular planter has a red foil sticker that reads: Rubens Originals, ©Los Angeles, made in Japan. Rubens Originals was an LA wholesale co. in the 50s, founded by Ruben Steinman. Apparently, him and his wife would often travel to Japan to order ceramics & eventually produced pieces, like this one, there as well. 👶🏼Unique vintage gift for the new mom, filled w/cool baby skincare samples, cotton balls/swabs, lotions & creams, etc. IDEAL FOR SUCCULENTS!
