New Old Stock 1960’s Model’s Coat with original sales tags still attached from The Bon Marche which is now Macy’s.
Fabric is an adorable red, white and blue washable cotton ditzy floral print. Collar is a woven lattice style in solid white cotton. Garment is brand new, unworn with store tags still attached.
There are 8 red metal snaps down the front. And 2 roomy pockets in the side seams.
Exclusive Floral print fabric which is washable. Length is below the knees. Sleeves are elbow length.
Model’s coats were house dresses /robes that you could put on as you were getting ready for the day in your own home. You could fix breakfast in one, or set your hair and put on your makeup while wearing one and still look decent and nice enough to answer the front door if someone rang the bell.
They were made of washable fabric so that it would be OK if one got dirty.
You would get all glammed up and ready to go out while wearing a model’s coat and switch into your going out clothes at the last minute. It was a very practical concept.
They were called model’s coats because fashion models were said to wear them while getting ready to go out on the runway in a designer ensemble.
Size Labeled a Vintage 14 which is a modern 10 or M letter size.
Measurements: Shoulders 16", Bust 24", Hips 24", Length 44.5" from shoulder to hem.
Full cut smock so will fit a large range of sizes.
I have added pictures with 2 different red belts, but belts do not come with.
