Alerting all vintage menswear buffs! This rare gem from old-school label Robert Bruce will have you feeling like one of The Beach Boys, ready to gas up the surf mobile and hit the sand before enjoying a malt at the diner! With its sunny marigold hue, you can't help but be charmed by this retro cardigan. Vintage from the sixties, this knit was designed by golf legend (and beverage innovator) Arnold Palmer for the Robert Bruce company. As many know, off the course Palmer became well known for his signature apparel line, which was famous for its iconic umbrella logo. So this Robert Bruce x Arnold Palmer team-up is like an early version of the ubiquitous collabs that are now de riguer in the fashion world. Made in the U.S.A., this high-quality garment is knit from 50% alpaca and 50% wool for a luxurious, breathable feel and stylish look. The design is quintessential cardigan, with fitted cuffs and hem and a relaxed cut in the sleeves and body. I'm not sure what to call it but the knit is a little different than a standard sweater knit, giving the piece a unique texture and look. It's not super soft, but rather a rugged feel that I think is great.
Note: there are a few little moth holes here and there (shown in last 4 photos), but I think they add to the authentic vintage charm--underscoring that cool edge that comes with timeworn, slightly disheveled knits. Otherwise excellent condition!
