Vintage 1950s men’s wooden shoe forms, set of 2, USA made, Rochester Shoe Co OS

Vintage 1950s wood metal shoe forms, set of 2, made in the USA in upstate New York by the Rochester Shoe Tree Co. The are made of a beautiful maroon toned wood, with steel metal components. Steel rods are engraved with the Rochester Shoe Tree Company. Note a crack in the surface of the wood on 1 (cosmetic) and some mysterious white paint drippings on both. I suspect these are men's. They are printed with the number 4...not sure what that means? They are pictured here inside one of my husband’s Rockports (Men’s size 6.5 US), and they also worked inside one of my dad’s work boots (US men’s size 11). Overall very good condition considering they are vintage (I would guess from the 1950s or 60s). Smoke free, pet free, scent free home.
