Vintage 1950s Handmade Red & White Reversible Vest /Blouse with Bakelite Buttons

This is a vintage handmade vest or blouse that was likely made in or around the 1950s. The piece has a patriotic theme and is reversible with one side being white and one side red. The red, white, and blue buttons are most likely layered Bakelite, or another early plastic, and the top and bottom ones are stars. The red side of the vest is in much better shape compared to the white side, and it has minimal stains. The white side has many stains, and the shoulder seams need a bit of repair.
