Vintage 1950s Carol Black Velour Breton Hat Wide Satin Band New York Creation

This is a fine quality velour hat designed in the Breton style by Carol during the mid 1950s. The hat has a crown with upturned brim as is typical of the Breton shape. The edge of the brim is decorated with a wide satin ribbon around its entirety with a matching box bow at its nape. The labels on the interior read “Carol: You Akways Know It’s A Carol Hat” and “New York Creation” (Size) “22”. The opening is lined with grosgrain ribbon. There is some balding on the velour at the front interior of the hat. A small portion of wire is protruding from the ribbon at the back of the hat, see photos.
