Vintage 1941-1958 Hertwig English Setter Porcelain Figurine

A vintage 1941-1958 porcelain figurine of an English Setter from Germany Katzhutte Hertwig. The English Setter's tail and one of his legs are up, as if he is ready to run/jump. Hertwig mark with the number 7 is at the bottom of the figurine. In 1864 porcelain factory Hertwig & Co. started construction of a porcelain factory in Katzhütte. Production included doll heads, pipe stubs and figurines. WWI and World Economic Crises enforced reduction of product range to fine earthenware. In 1960 the company was converted into a state-owned company, the VEB Zierkeramik Katzhütte. The product range was cut back to decoration ceramics only. In 1990 the factory was closed. Approximate size: Length 11" x Width 3" x Height 7 1/2" Approximate weight: 15.2 oz Very good condition, except for a small hairline crack on the left ankle, as shown in the last picture.
