Tachi Castillo, a well-known Mexican designer, opened her store in 1937. Her feminine and romantic dresses, often adorned with beading and sequins, were favorites of Joan Fontaine, Brigitte Bardot and Lana Turner, as well as other non-Hollywood celebrities such as Princess Anne and Frida Kahlo. This sleeveless vintage 1940s sheath features a sequinned, crocheted top layer over a black lining that lets the shoulders show through. Size 16. Measures 19 inches pit to pit, 18 inches across front at waist, 20 inches across front at hips, 36 inches shoulder to hem. Made of algodon (cotton). Back zip.
