Vintage 1940 Style Short Skirt Dress Navy Chiffon Scattered Flower Appliques

So cute vintage 1940 style day dress. Perfect for luncheon dates or world-wide touring. The fabric is a navy chiffon presenting as semi-sheer. The boat neckline has a tiny Peter Pan collar. The sleeves are cap style. The bodice is scattered with white flower appliques. The waist has a 4' wide pleated cummerbund. The lightly gathered skirt at the front has 3/8" wide vertical bands. The back closes with 15 self-fabric buttons from neck to hem. You will need a slip to wear under this--but your choice. Please see condition report below. Bust-20 1/2 pit to pit; 26" waist; 42" hip on gathered skirt; 15" shoulder to waist; 39" long to turn under hem Condition: good vintage--Note: there are a couple pinholes we noted when held to the light on the back top and skirt--there may be others. BUT--the white dots showing in the photos of the bodice is camera play on light. Note--do not hand wash this--the navy bleeds. At the top near the waist, on two of the white bands--there is small bleed-through of blue. It is hidden when cummerbund is in place. There are also a couple places where the trim has small stains.
