This is a beautiful and complete vintage set of Singer Sewing Library booklets from the late 1920s to early 1930s, published by the Singer Sewing Machine Company. These instructional guides were part of Singer's effort to teach practical sewing skills "The Modern Singer Way."
Included in this set (all original, matching case included):
No. 1 – Short Cuts to Home Sewing
No. 2 – How to Make Dresses
No. 3 – How to Make Children's Clothes
No. 4 – How to Make Draperies (Slip Covers, Cushions, and Other Home Furnishings)
Each booklet features charming illustrated covers, detailed sewing instructions, and tips for making clothing and home items using Singer sewing machines. Copyright dates range from 1923–1930, placing this set squarely in the early 20th century.
The original slipcase/box is also included. It shows some expected wear and scuffing from age, but still holds the booklets nicely (see photos). The booklets themselves are in very good condition for their age, with intact covers and only a few pages with minor wear.
