Celluloid is a trade name, like Band-Aid or Kleenex, but the term has been generically used for many years to reference a type of plastic material invented in the mid-1800s. It was used to make a variety of objects that are now collectibles until about 1940. These are not toys, for display only.
Condition: Good with signs of age but nothing broken or cracked.
Measurements: Buffalo is 2.5"L x 1.5"H. The other three are all somewhat larger.
Vintage set of four celluloid animals, perfect for collectors or display. This lot features a red camel, a brown giraffe, a yellow and brown buffalo, and a multi-colored fish. Each animal is uniquely designed and shows signs of age, adding to their vintage charm. The toys are durable and easy to handle, making them ideal for imaginative play or display on a shelf. These nostalgic celluloid animals would be great for educational purposes, as a unique addition to a vintage toy collection, or as decorative pieces in a children's room.
