The scarab was used by the ancient Egyptians as a symbol of the rising sun being pushed across the sky (just as the beetle pushes balls of dung across the sand), exemplifying the notion that the sun god can create his own means of rebirth. each of the gemstones is meant to look like a Scarab beatle. This bracelet, likely made between the 1920s and 1950s, has 7 different gemstones. Each of their colors symbolizing something different; along with the hylogriphs on the back of the scarab, in ancient times and more modern times, they have been used for luck, protection and strength. the scarabs each measure 1" long, and the length of the bracelet is 6" with a 2" safety chain.
