Vintage 14K Gold Carved Coral Grotesque Demon Amulet Charm Pendant 1930s

This is a rare and stunning Art Deco era, 14K gold and carved coral charm/pendant resembling a grotesque stylized demon figure, often seen in European folk art and amulets. The pointed ears, exaggerated face, and crouching posture are typical of protective charms carved to ward off evil, "the evil eye". This carved coral creature charm measures 21.8mm. high or 0.83 inches, and weighs 4.0 grams. The gold bail and jump ring on top assay as 14K gold in content. The jump ring was not cut when this charm was originally removed from an Art Deco era 14K gold charm bracelet, and measures 6.5mm. in diameter which is a good size for slipping a chain through just in case you want to wear this piece as a pendant. This piece is very intricately detailed and exceptionally crafted.
