Victorian Era Middletown Plate Silverplate Leaf Ladybug Beetle Dish Napkin Holde

This lovely and unusual Art Nouveau piece depicts a giant leaf, supported by curled leaves and branches. Upon the furled stem of the leaf sits a waiting ladybug. I adore how nature's beauty becomes art in these early Middletown pieces. The details are so intricate at a time it was really quite difficult. I have searched but can't find another! It may have originally served as a serving dish of some kind, but perhaps a centerpiece or napkin holder. The piece measures 8.75" Long, 6" Tall and just under 6" Wide. It weighs 1.4 lbs. It is marked on the bottom and also says triple plated. It has some tarnish and will take a little work to fully restore. Please see all pictures to assure your happiness 😊.
