An Op-art Geometric earrings designed by Victor Vasarely (1906-1997).
Beautiful wearable pieces of art, created in London England by the Op-art artist Victor Vasarely. This very rare sculptural pair of earrings has been carefully crafted in solid .925/.999 sterling silver and are suited, with 18 karats yellow gold posts for pierced ears and comfortable omega backs.
This geometric design is composed by a pair of cushion shaped flat elements, embellished with applications of black enamel.
They have a combined weight of 8.6 Grams and a measures of 23 mm (0.91 in) by 18 mm (0.71 in).
Stamped at the reverse, with the edition number and signed, "VASARELY 36/100".
Victor Vasarely, 1905-1997 was a Hungarian-French artist, who is widely accepted as a "grandfather" and leader of the Op-art movement. His work entitled Zebra, created in 1937, is considered by some to be one of the earliest examples of Op-art.
