Victor Costa 90s Navy Ribbonwork and Sequin Strapless Mini Dress Size 10

Renowned American occasion wear designer Victor Costa created this mini dress for Saks Fifth Avenue in the late 1980s or early 1990s. Cut from sapphire-blue mesh, it is tailored to a strapless mini-dress shape with a sweetheart neckline and a boned corset which is a separate piece but fitted inside the dress. The designer's skill and attention-to-detail can be seen in the intricate ribbon-work embellishment which covers the whole of the gown. Forming rose-like forms, the spirals of ribbon are finished with iridescent white and sapphire-blue sequins. The dress fastens at the back with a hidden tonal zip and hook-and-eye clasp.
