This vintage Walter Parke original drawing using a dark graphite pencil depicts a serene scene from the Memphis Levee, featuring a paddle wheel boat and the iconic American culture. Walter Parke was born in Arkansas in 1909 and studied at the Art Institute of Chicago with Wellington J. Reynolds. He taught at Palette and Chisel in 1966 and was a member of the Brown County Art Guild, Municipal Art League, and the Oak Park Art League.
