The bright Sun pattern of the Stonehenge series by W.R. Midwinter, Ltd., probably needs no introduction. (I am listing the brand as "vintage" as it is now vintage, and there's no brand consistency on PM for this pottery, so search carefully for other pieces listed by me, or anyone else.) Excerpt from House & Garden magazine (Condé Nast Britain), reporting the death of Eve Midwinter, ceramicist & designer of this pattern, in 2017, at the age of 90: Eve was born in 1927 Palampur, India, to an Irish mother and Russian father. She studied fine art and sculpture at Burslem School of Art before leaving when she married Roy Midwinter. She began working with the W. R. Midwinter company in the 1950s...her patterns were iconic and have become popular with collectors. Here is the the 1/2 pint (UK)/12 oz.(USA) Milk Jug of the Sun pattern in excellent condition with very minor base wear. NOTE: There was also a smaller "cream jug," and a larger Jug/Pitcher in this pattern. So be sure this is the one you want.
