VTG I Robert Bruce I Maroon I 1980s I Nutty Professor Sweater Vest

This maroon red, v-neck, sweater vest is vintage in more ways than one, but it can definitely be pinpointed to the 1980s. I call it the Nutty Professor vest because it belonged to my Dad who definitely was one (still around, just retired - Ph.D. in History if you really want the essence)! As stated, it has a v-neck (close-up in photo 8), and also a ribbed waist (close-up in photo 9). Photo 10 show a close-up of the material, a bit pilly throughout, but in otherwise great shape, no holes, pulls, or stains whatsoever. Approximate measurements laid flat, shown in photos 4-5: pit to pit 26" length 27.25" This particular Robert Bruce label, with the R overlapping the B in positive/negative space was registered in 1983, and canceled in 2004 (photo 14). This sweater vest also has an ILGWU/International Ladies' Garment Workers Union label (photo 11 & last photo), which merged with another union in 1995, further narrowing its age. But lastly, it is made of 100% Orlon acrylic (photo 12), which ceased production in 1990 (photo 15, easily Googled). So there you have it, and authentic Robert Bruce sweater vest from the 1980s!
