For your consideration is this artist signed ceramic water pitcher created, painted and signed by M. L. Boone (name incised on base). Seller was unable to locate any mention of this particular artist in newspaper advertisements and is unable to date the piece. The water pitcher most likely was crated from a mold or green-ware and decorated by the signor. It does feel thicker than general slip cast ceramics. It is decorated with applied gold along the ornate rim, handle, and raised grape motifs on both sides. The base color is more of a winter or ivory white. Seller has provided an AI image showing how the piece will look with a floral arrangement in it, which is her preferred use of the piece. It measures 4.25 inches in diameter at the widest section by 7.75 inches tall, and weighs 1 pound 2.8 ounces. Seller recommends hand washing to maintain the applied gold.
Condition: No chips, cracks or crazing observed. Seller did notice burnishing marks under the glaze when examining under bright studio lighting. Item has been steam cleaned prior to photographing and listing.
