VTG 80s MONET Goddess Athena Minerva Greek or Roman Coin Pin Brooch UNUSED

Another unused vintage piece from my personal collection! This early 80s pin was made by Monet in the style of an ancient Greek coin Features a bust of Athena, goddess of wisdom, war & crafts, in profile (or Minerva, her syncretized Roman counterpart) This regal lady wears a laurel of olive leaves in her hair - the olive tree was the gift of Athena to the people of Greece & thus the city of Athens is named in her honor Silver tone coin is set within a gold tone metal frame, as shown Measures about 2.25" long & is 1/8" thick so it sits nicely on all but the thinnest fabrics Signed Monet on the reverse In unworn condition, the pin is straight with a securely closing clasp *Last photo is courtesy The Cleveland Museum of Art & shows a tetradrachm circa 440 BCE which clearly inspired this pretty piece Whether or not you're a devotee of Athena, this pin is a lovely addition to a costume jewelry wardrobe (Definite amulet potential with this one though!✨) Ships same or next USPS workday so you can start wearing it pronto
