VTG 70s Vera Maxwell “Speed Suit” Women’s Sz M Black w/ Gold & Silver Maxi Dress

Vintage 1970s Vera Maxwell “Speed Suit” Women’s Size Medium Black w/ Gold & Silver Maxi Dress. The top portion is basically an open knit double v-neck sweater. Black with a silver and gold metallic wavy stripe detail. 3/4 sleeves. The skirt is lightweight. Black with gold and silver zip zag lines and dots. The skirt is lined and has a slit on the front left that goes up to about the knee. It still has its original 70” fabric belt made of the same fabric as the skirt. I don’t know what the dress is made of, no materials tag, but it’s dry clean only. I believe this would be considered a RARE find, and I know Vera Maxwell has, or had, at least one of her “speed suits” in a museum collection. Approximate measurements: Bust 32” (without stretch) Length 56” Waist 29” In the right shoulder. There’s a loose 2-3 inch piece of yarn. It appears to be attached on both ends and I don’t see any holes around it, so I don’t know what that’s about. And then on that same side there’s a piece of yarn sticking out near the arm pit. Those are the only condition issues that I see in this entire dress. I don’t know if they can be “fixed”, but they can probably be made less noticeable and save it from getting worse. She needs a little TLC, but I think this dress still has plenty of life left to give. Perfect vintage holiday dress.
