VINTAGE Hudson's Detriot USA UNION MADE Faux Fur Animal Print Coat
Photos do NOT do this epic coat justice. This Queen of the Jungle is a true vintage 1960s faux fur coat on the prowl for her Ms. Right. Part of the "Safari" line styled by Sportowne, with fabric made by LaFrance, this piece was sold at the legendary Hudson's in Detroit, Michigan. Hudson's operated in Detroit for over 100 years, from 1881 to 1983. In the 1950s, the flagship store boasted more than 700 fitting rooms, 51 passenger elevators, and several basements. In 1960, the downtown Hudson's store hired its first African American bus girl, a high school student named Diana Ross, who would later make musical history. And later that decade, another amazing woman brought this incredible animal print beauty home with her... and now it can be yours!
Women's size large, US 8/10 -- based on measurements (below) and how it fits me. No size tag on the garment. Please check your measurements against those below. NOTE: The sleeves are shorter than they would be on a modern coat due to the style of the 60s (ladies would wear a muff or long leather gloves).
