For your consideration is this vintage Rockinghamware Style Teapot produced in Japan during the 1950s. Imported by TILSO, this redware type piece consists of two pieces, the lid and teapot. The lid has a notch on top with pink drip glaze and a tab on the underside to hold onto the teapot. The hand painted pink drip glaze extends down from the top onto the teapot and top of squared off handle. The spout has a slight curve and there is a built-in strainer inside. The teapot measures 7.5 inches long x 4.75 inches wide x 5.75 inches tall and has a capacity of approximately 4-Cups or 32 fluid ounces. The pottery has a lustre type clear glaze and has a molted appearance when viewed under bright lights, such as the photo box. The original "TILSO Japan" sticker is still adhered to the bottom. The entirety of the piece is glazed in exception of the lid's bottom rim and the bottom of the teapot. It weighs 1 pound 3.8 ounces.
