The White House was the FIRST department store in San Francisco; it opened in 1854 and closed in 1965. It was originally named Davidson & Lane, then J.W. Davidson & Company, and finally, in 1870, when it moved to a large new building, took the name "The White House". What a treasure to have a piece of what was sold at the very first San Francisco Department Store! I can only imagine the places that this unique deco purse has been to (from France to Ballrooms to ?). Who have the Owner(s) been? I sure wish that I knew. Perfect for a Night out on the Town, to accompany you at a “Gangster for a Funeral” Play or Speakeasy Event, Halloween or Costume Party, etc. Check out the unique beaded design work and the “Bling” Rhinestone closure.
