allegrameredith @june_albright there isn’t a fabric-content label. The dress appears to be custom-made, I believe in the 1970s. The fabric of the pink underdress is very soft and shiny. I don’t think it’s real satin, but it’s a good imitation. The outer, white layer is a little stiffer fabric. It should only be ironed on a cool setting.

allegrameredith @june_albright The dress is very well made and placement of the white floral over-layer was very skillfully done. (I sew, so I know how difficult this can be.) The dress is from a local antiques store that had a vintage clothing section.

june_albright @allegrameredith thanks, I’m looking for a dress to wear to my daughter‘s wedding, and it needs to be natural fiber like silk, cotton linen or lightweight wool. Satin is a weave structure, but could be polyester or silk. I also sew and sometimes do a burn test to determine fiber content by snipping a tiny piece from a seam allowance. I don’t know if you would be willing to do this and to take a picture of the inside of the dress., but I am interested. Thanks. June

allegrameredith @june_albright I’ve read about burn tests, but I’ve never done one. There isn’t enough seam allowance to snip to burn. I’d put money on the fabric being synthetic, so it won’t work for you 😞 Good luck with your search!
