This is a vintage Yves Saint Laurent variation blazer that I bought in a Paris vintage store. I would put this at a late 80's early 90's jacket. It's still in good condition with some tears in the lining -- hard to see but I believe straightforward to fix.
Body is form fitting and sleeves hit right above the wrist.

Does variation mean it’s a knockoff?

Variation was a diffusion line of ready to wear set up by Yves Saint Laurent in the 80's, but it's no longer around. It's a similar idea to See by Chloé. I got this jacket at a vintage designer shop in Paris a few years ago, but only wore it a couple of times.
