Based on my research, Ozark Roadside Tourist Pottery is a type of souvenir pottery sold to travelers in the 1930s and early ’40s.It was the brainchild of Harold Horine. He perfected a method for making concrete vessels without a mold. The surfaces are painted and have a matte finish, and "on many pots, the paint bleeds over the edge and under the base."Horine sold the pots to tourists at a roadside stand in Missouri but subsequently franchised his business and traveled across the United States. For a fee, he taught others to create the pots who then became their own entrepreneurs.
MARKS: None that I could find
CONDITION: Very good vintage condition. Has some dirt/lime deposits from previous use which I have not tried to clean. I do not see any chips. There is a overall crazing and some very fine cracks (mostly visible with a magnifying glass), as could be expected of a concrete item, but it appears to be very solid and sound.
