VINTAGE MILITARY PIN

Medieval fortress style military pin, age and origin unknown. I was not able to find any info about this, even using AI. Found among a box of items pre-dating 1940s in our attic Stamped STERLING on the back but could certainly use a good cleaning. The back is not original to the piece but does hold it securely.
