VINTAGE MFA: MUSEUM of FINE ARTS SCRIMSHAW BUNNY RABBIT GOLD-TONE PIN or BROOCH

Vintage oval shaped pin with a scrimshaw like etching. I don’t believe this is real scrimshaw. Gold-tone metal frame. Etching is a wild rabbit, wild hair. Delicate etching and coloring. Pin measures approximately: Approx 1 3/4" in width; 1 1/4" in height (oval in shape) ITEM DETAILS:This listing features a vintage Museum of Fine Arts Boston (MFA) scrimshaw pin or brooch. It bears the image of a what I believe is a bunny rabbit / wild hair. As with any scrimshaw item, it is highly detailed and very intricately made. I will openly that I do not know what material was used for the scrimshaw, although I do not believe it was bone or natural. I actually suspect it is probably some type of malleable plastic, but this is just a guess. This piece is set in a gold-tone metal and bears a safety clasp closure on the back. The clasp works. Pin is marked with "MFA" on the back, bottom middle. I do believe this piece to be an older Item. Since it is used it may have some wear from age, use and storage.
